Grateful Contest Winners

After an unplanned break due to life circumstances, I am now finally announcing the winners of the poetry contest! The submissions were beautiful, and I enjoyed reading through them. I hope you enjoy the winners just as much as I did! (Due to the amount of submissions received, I selected first place and second place)

First place: Mighty Gifts by Selah Cross

A beating heart, an able hand,
What gifts are there more fine
Than these to move and to command—
How come they to be mine?
You formed this hand, You wrought this heart,
I thank Thee, Mighty God!
You granted strength, You bade life start,
My soul stands over-awed.
Awake, Oh heart and hand; outpour
Unending hymns of praise,
And sing your thanks forevermore
Upon the Harp of Days.

Second place: Describing My Blessings by Esther Dawn

How could I begin to describe my blessings?
Are there words enough to describe each one?
I can’t even count all I take delight in.
Here are some, though I’ve only just begun:

Holy is the word to describe my Father.
Perfect is the word to describe His word.
Lovely is the word to describe creation.
Beautiful–the flower, the star, the bird.

Peaceful is the word to describe a sunset.
Pretty is the word to describe a rose.
Vibrant is the word to describe all nature.
Wonderful, each creature that lives and grows.

Breezy is the word to describe the autumn.
Balmy is the spring, when the air is mild.
Tender is the word to describe a mother.
Precious is the word to describe a child.

Loyal is the word to describe my family.
Lasting is the word to describe our love.
Joyful is the word to describe salvation.
Steadfast is our hope in our home above.

Glorious is the word to describe this world.
Marvelous, the joys with which it is full.
Humbled is the word to describe my spirit.
Grateful is the word to describe my soul.

Thank you again to everyone who entered! I loved reading your poetry!
